Focus and Scope

The journal centres on Asian literary sources. Asia is taken to span from the Iranian plateau to the Japanese archipelago, while literature is taken to refer to texts that artistically foreground their style and structure. The journal has a special focus on religious literature, but considers submissions of other types of material. The journal welcomes submissions that range from translations (of complete texts or selections of texts) to considerations of translation practice and translation theory (as it relates to Asian literary sources), as well as papers that do both of these things. The journal also invites contributions that take up broader aspects of a given text or genre’s transmission and adaptation, as long as the source materials are approached in their original language by the author.

Publication Frequency

Articles are published individually as soon as they are ready.

The frequency of publication is approximately 4 articles per year, which are collected into an annual volume.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Authors of articles published remain the copyright holders and grant third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the Creative Commons license agreement.

Journal Archiving

The journal’s publisher focuses on making content discoverable and accessible through indexing services. Content is also archived around the world to ensure long-term availability.

Journals are indexed by Google Scholar and available for harvesting via OAI-PMH.
DOAJ registration will be completed for our journals on an individual basis as soon as possible.
To ensure permanency of all publications, this journal utilises the Portico service to create permanent archives for the purposes of preservation and restoration.
Journal content is also made available via Cardiff University’s institutional repository, ORCA.
